DANKWORTE AN DIE GEMEINDE

Dear All,
Sadly, due to the global Coronavirus pandemic, I am unable to attend my father’s memorial service which your lovely community has arranged for him.

I would like to express my gratitude and huge thanks to each and every one of you who knew my dad and made him part of your community.

It was comforting to know that he was loved and looked after till he passed.

Your generosity, compassion, etc. have meant more to me than you will ever know, so again, a huge thank you.

My parents got divorced when I was going on 3 years old, and my mum and I moved to Johannesburg a couple of years after that, so I didn’t get to see much of my dad.

I then relocated to England, nearly 10 years ago, as my mum was diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis. Mum is still with us but sadly bedridden and severely disabled now, so I am her Lasting power of attorney.

Unfortunately, it took my dad’s illness to bring us back together, talking more regularly again, and in each chat that we had, he always said how much he appreciated the friends he had made in the community and always mentioned the school too and the care that you all
showed towards him, and how he enjoyed being part of your community.

Once the pandemic settles down, and international travel is allowed again, I would like to come to visit and say thank you in person. But for now, all I can keep saying is a very big thank you for caring for my dad.
Kind regards,
Cherine
